Darian Head Named New Head Boys Basketball Coach

St. Louis - Bishop DuBourg High School announced that Darian Head has been named the new Head Boys Basketball Coach beginning this fall. He joins the Cavaliers after a six-year stint as the varsity assistant coach at Jennings High School. Coach Head takes over for LaDon Champagnie, who is leaving Bishop DuBourg to pursue other basketball coaching opportunities.

“I am excited and truly appreciative of the opportunity to lead the DB program,” stated Head. “Coach Champ has done a great job putting the program in a position to be successful. There are some talented kids that I will enjoy working with. Hopefully, we can continue trending up and turn the program into a consistent winner.”

During his time at Jennings, Head aided their head coach in organizing and leading daily practices while assisting in all game-day operations for the team. He was a part of the Jennings coaching staff that led the Warriors to a third-place finish in the 2018 Missouri State High School Activities Association Class 4 Basketball Championships.

Head is also a mainstay in the St. Louis AAU circuit as a coach in the Gateway Basketball program. He has been a part the 17u program for Gateway and also aids the program in assisting with tryouts for the 15u and 16u teams within the club.
