VETERANS WALL
Bishop DuBourg is proud to house a Veterans Memorial Wall of Honor, recognizing all DB alumni who have served in the U.S. armed forces. We are truly proud of our alumni and their selfless dedication, bravery, and sacrifice to our nation.
HISTORY
In October 2012, the St. Louis Review ran an article highlighting the efforts of DB grad, Gary Myerscough ’64 to establish a memorial at his alma mater for those who served honorably in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard. JoAnn (DeCarlo) Eckrich ’64 was the local St. Louis connection that helped make Gary’s dream become a reality. Christian Brother William Woeger, FSC ’63, donated his artistic talents and dedication to design and create the panels of the Veterans Memorial. On the memorial, each service emblem is represented and also includes Lucite plates on which the service member’s name is engraved. A simple gold cross signifies veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice while on active duty. The Veterans Memorial was blessed during a prayer service on Veterans Day 2013.
