Distinguished Alumnus Award
The Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented annually at commencement, recognizes the personal, professional, and civic accomplishments of a Bishop DuBourg Alumnus who has demonstrated a commitment to faith, family, and service.

Hall of Fame
Bishop DuBourg High School recognizes many of our former athletes and coaches throughout the years at our annual Hall of Fame Dinner. Currently, there are over 100 inductees, and many more to come.

The Bishop DuBourg High School Hall of Fame is currently accepting nominations for alumni who excelled in athletics as well as any coaches, living or deceased, who are deserving of this honor.  Nominees should be alumni who have graduated from 1959-2001. All nominees must be a graduate from the school for at least ten years before they are considered. To nominate someone, contact Angela Calloni or fill out this form.

Members of the Hall of Fame are inducted based on their great accomplishments in athletics. The inductees exemplify what it means to be a part of the Bishop DuBourg Family.

Wall of Fame

Introduced in 2016, the Wall of Fame recognizes distinguished alumni who have shown exemplary service, accomplishment, or commitment to DB or the community.

Distinguished Alumni Award

Congratulations to our 2017 recipient Judy Kent '78!
Judy Kent:

Bishop DuBourg is proud that the 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award is being presented to Judy Kent, a 1978 graduate and strong philanthropic force in the Saint Louis community. Judy is currently very involved as a leader in various local charities, but she came from humble beginnings. During her four years at Bishop DuBourg, Judy balanced a high level of participation in the school (as a member of the Theater Guild, the speech team, and as a cheerleader) with working weekends and several weeknights in order to help her hardworking but financially challenged family.
Once she graduated, she matriculated in Saint Louis University where she continued her busy lifestyle of juggling avid engagement and working three jobs. No stranger to the difficulties associated with working and being a full-time student, Judy was inspired to help younger students in the same situation she had been, and vowed she would one day become a strong proponent of scholarship for higher education. Judy graduated from Saint Louis University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, and set out to begin making her dreams come true.

Judy’s first job out of college was at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in a managerial role. She believed a hospital would be a great place to begin to make a lasting difference. During her time there she met and married her husband of 29 years, Jerald “Jerry” Kent, a cable entrepreneur. Together, Judy and Jerry raised two amazing children, Matthew and Rachel. Judy decided she was being called to take a more active role in raising the children, so she left the hospital and embarked on the next exciting era of her life: motherhood.

Judy dove headfirst into volunteering, first as a perpetual room mother, and then when her thirst for doing good was not quenched, she made the move to the broader community. Judy was drawn to causes she was passionate about, including the fine arts, through Stages St. Louis, and development disabilities, through Easter Seals Midwest. It was not enough for her to sit idly by as an occasional volunteer however; Judy stepped up into leadership positions, expanding both the size and philanthropic impact of those charitable organizations. Combined, Judy has given over 20 years of selfless service and as a result has greatly elevated events at Stages and Easter Seals, including Easter Seals’ annual gala, “Festival,” which Judy chairs. Her prowess as a leader has resulted in hundreds of families being helped and millions of dollars being raised for the causes. Ever mindful of her modest beginnings, Judy and her husband Jerry also provide support for dozens of university students through financial scholarships at Saint Louis University, Washington University (Jerry’s alma mater), the University of Notre Dame (Matthew’s alma mater), and College of the Holy Cross (Rachel’s alma mater).

It is no wonder that Judy and Jerry received the 2013 Saint Louis Arts Award for Excellence in Philanthropy, Judy received the Easter Seals Philanthropist of the Year award in 2015, and in 2009 Judy and Jerry received the Dean’s Medal from Washington University. We are honored to present Judy with 2017 Distinguished Alumni Award, and cannot wait to see what this Cavalier does next.
